A motorist caught driving while over the limit has been disqualified.

Stornoway Sheriff Court was told a breath test showed Nathan Haines had a reading of 43mcg. The maximum permitted level is 22mcg.

He was caught while driving between Aiginish and the Bràighe - in his home district of Point - in February.

Haines received a one year ban.

In addition, he has to undertake 60 hours of community service work.
