A 10 year driving ban has been imposed on an island man.

Domhnall Chalum Macleod pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified.

The incident occurred in the village of Brue in August.

The 23-year-old of 11 Macmillan Brae, Stornoway, also admitted careless driving by  colliding into another vehicle. Both were damaged.

Macleod also accepted he had no insurance and also refused to give police a blood specimen.

He was also placed on a two year community payback order to include 200 hours of unpaid community service work.
