A motorist who drove without valid insurance was fined £300 at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Cameron Naylor, 20, of Uig, pleaded guilty by letter to the charge.

He also received six penalty points on his licence for the incident which occurred on Perceval Road, Stornoway in October.

Not guilty pleas to taking a vehicle without consent and the vehicle not having a Mot were accepted.
