A driver who went through a red light and nearly collided with a school lollipop man has appeared in court.
James Govans of 28 Upper Aird, Point, Lewis, was fined £450 and disqualified from driving for three months.
Govans was found guilty after trial at Stornoway Sheriff Court.
He had been charged with dangerous driving by failing to stop at a pedestrian crossing at Laxdale School on the outskirts of Stornoway when a red light was against him, narrowly avoiding colliding with a school patrol officer standing on the crossing.
