Driver dies after suffering heart attack at the wheel 22/7/14
A motorist has died after suffering a suspected heart attack while driving on South
Uist.
The driver, aged 69, became ill at the wheel causing the car to lose control.
It landed in a field off the main road, just south of the Bornish junction shortly
before 6pm on Monday evening.
Emergency services responded to reports of a a single vehicle collision.
Police and the local ambulance staff found the man dead inside his car.
A police spokesman said: “A man in his 60s died at the scene as a result of a medical
matter.”
