Local Trading Standards are issuing a reminder to Lewis residents to say no to doorstep sellers.

 

Several reports have been received of doorstep sellers operating on the island over the past couple of weeks.

 

Officers urge islanders to look out for elderly relatives and neighbours and immediately report any suspicious activity to Trading Standards on 01851 822694. In an emergency dial 999

 

A spokesperson said: “We advise residents to display No Doorstep Sellers signage.”

 

Doorstoppers stickers are available from libraries, council offices, and from Trading Standards on the above number.
