A Lewis man has been fined £250 for shouting and swearing in Stornoway Town centre.

Shaun Macleod, 23, of Stornoway, pleaded guilty to behaving in an abusive manner when his case called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Procurator fiscal Karen Smith said he refused to calm down when asked by police.

Lawyer, Angus Macdonald, said the incident  - at 1.20am on morning last May in Point Street - was a continuation of an insulting remark made by Macleod’s co-accused earlier.
