A defibrillator is now available in the Bays of Harris area.

The equipment – which would be used if someone suffered a heart attack and a doctor wasn’t immediately available –  has been installed outside the local community centre at Leacklea.

The device was provided by the Lucky2Bhere initiative with donations from Skoon Art Cafe and money raised at Stornoway's 999 Charity Football.

The Lucky2BHere Eilean Siar team provided training to locals.

Lucky2BHere supplies lifesaving defibrillators and trains users in emergency life support.

This helps reduce response times, particularly in rural areas and hopefully saves lives.
