A teenager who drove a car with worn tyres has been fined.
John Maciver of Hacklete, Great Bernera, pleaded guilty by letter to two counts of having ineffective tyres when his case called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.
He was caught at Willowglen in Stornoway in September.
He was penalised £240 with six points imposed on his licence.
Not guilty pleas to having a defective suspension and a missing silencer were accepted.
