Sea Angling A 7 v 1 Rangers Club B
Murdo (140, 2 x 100) opened for the B Team after beating Alex Keiller (140, 100) 3 - 1, assisted on his way by his 79 finish in the opening leg.

 

Jim O'Donnell levelled for the A Team beating Ross 3 - 0. Murdo Alex MacLeod (2 x 140, 3 x 100) put the A Team in front after beating Calum 3 - 0.

 

Rory Ferguson (140, 137, 115, 100) increased the A Team's lead by beating Gordon Mopp (100) 3 - 0.

 

Rory managed a 62 checkout in leg 2.

 

The final singles game had Willie Reid (139, 117, 101, 2 x 100) beat Innes (120, 2 x 100) 3 - 1.

 

The triples saw Jim, Murdo Alex (135) and Rory beat Murdo (140, 100). Gordie Mopp and Innes before the doubles, which had Murdo Alex (139, 125, 2 x 100) and Willie beat Ross and Calum.

 

The final doubles game had Rory and Alex Keiller beat Murdo and Innes.

 

There were only 30 100+ scores in this match but Murdo Alex got 10 of them.

Sparrows 5 v 3 The Carlton
Mairianne MacIver opened for the Sparrows against your darts reporter, John Norman Murray (100) and it took all 5 legs before John Norman went off with a 3 - 2 result. A win's a win!

 

Calum Ruddy (140, 4 x 100) levelled the match score after beating Neil Claydon (101) 3 - 0. Davie Ross (120, 100) put The Carlton back in front after beating Amanda Campbell (125) 3 - 0.

 

Finlay MacIver (3 x 100) levelled for the Sparrows again after beating Donnie "Token Hearach" MacDonald (105) 3 - 0.

 

Scott MacLeod (140, 2 x 100) put the Sparrows in front for the first time in the match after beating Ruaraidh Smith (2 x 140, 100) 3 - 0.

 

The triples saw Finlay (2 x 100), Mairianne and Calum beat Davie (100), John Norman and Ruaraidh.

 

With the match score at 4 - 2 to the Sparrows, The Carlton had it all to play for in the final two doubles games.

 

The opening doubles game had Finlay (140, 100) and Amanda beat John Norman and Davie. It was Finlay's 88 checkout, hitting 8 and 2x D20, that won this game for the Sparrows.

 

The final game had Neil and Ruaraidh beat Calum and Scott.

 

This was an improved result for The Carlton after the 6 - 2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The Western Isles Darts Festival is from 26th to 31st January this year in three venues says John Norman Murray.


Monday and Tuesday in the Sea Angling Club, Wednesday in the Rangers Club and Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Golf Club.
