Darts results

Last week saw five Neil MacKay Lewis and Harris Darts League matches played.

 

Wednesday 4th March saw the rescheduled Sea Angling B V Golf Club match. Ted Bainbridge was first up for the B team against Stuart. Ted (126, 100) took 3 legs to see off Stuart before Willie “Pegs” Davidson, for the B team, faced the Golf Club’s Phil “The Powercut” Frieslick. The Powercut levelled the match score by beating Pegs (140, 2 x 100) 3 – 2. The 3rd game saw the B team’s Babz play young Ciaran Peck. The B team went back in front as Babz (4 x 100) beat Ciaran (100) 3 – 0.

 

Heckles was the B team’s next player to step to the oche where he faced Sander Peck. Heckles (120, 100) beat Sander (138, 2 x 100) 3 – 1 to put the B team 2 points ahead. The final singles game saw Wakey step up for the B team to play the Golf Club’s Daniel. Wakey (2 x 100) put the match score to 4 – 1 to the B team beating Daniel (115) 3 – 0.


The triples game had, for the B team, substitute Blondie, Wakey and Babz (100) play Sander, The Powercut and substitute Eosa. Blondie’s D18 finish put the match score to 5 – 1.


The first doubles game saw Blondie and Pegs play father and son, Sander (100) and Ciaran. Blondie secured his 2nd win by hitting DE4 to checkout. The final game had Heckles (100) and Ted p0lay Eosa and Stuart. Heckles sealed a 7 – 1 final match score for the B team with his D4 finish.

Friday 6th March had the Sparrows play host to Sea Angling A. Calum Ruddy opened for the Sparrows against Alex Keiler. Alex played a very high scoring game (177, 118, 7 x 100) to beat Calum (125) 3 – 2, after Calum had won the opening leg. Alex “Momby” Morrison was the Sparrow’s next player on the oche where he faced Willie Reid. Momby (180, 134, 131, 100) beat Willie (140) 3 – 0 to level the match score. Finlay MacIver was next up for the Sparrows where he played Jim. Finlay (2 x 140, 2 x 100) put the Sparrows in front after beating Jim (140, 125, 3 x 100) 3 – 1 with Jim winning the 1st leg. Mairianne MacIver was the Sparrow’s next player up and she faced Murdo Alex. Murdo (2 x 140, 100) levelled the match score at 2 – 2 after beating Mairianne 3 – 0. Scott MacLeod was the final player in the singles for the Sparrows, when he played Rory. Scott (125, 5 x 100) put the Sparrows back in front after beating Rory (140, 135, 2 x 100) 3 – 1.


The triples game saw Momby (140, 125, 100); Scott and Finlay for the Sparrows play The A team’s Murdo Alex (2 x 100), Rory and Jim (105). Rory’s D8 finish saw the match score at level pegging again.


The first doubles game had Momby (125) and Finlay play Alex Keiler and Jim. Momby’s D20 finish put the Sparrows 1 point in front with 1 game left to play. The final game had Scott (100) and Calum (2 x 100) play Murdo (125, 100) and Rory (140, 100). Rory’s D10 finish secured a 4 – 4 draw for the A team.

Friday also saw Rangers club B against Sea Angling B. Gordy Mopp was the first player from the Rangers Club on the oche where he faced Wakey from the Danglers. Wakey (180, 3 x 100) give the Danglers an early lead after beating Gordy 3 – 2. Wakey scored his max 180 in the 1st leg. Second up for the Rangers Club was Craig who played Blondie. Craig (119, 100) levelled for Rangers Club beating Dave Blondie 3 – 1 after Dave had won the 1st leg. Ross was the Rangers Club’s next player to step forward when he played Pegs. Ross (105, 2 x 100) put the Rangers Club in front after beating Pegs (3 x 100) 3 – 1. Calum was the next on the oche for the Rangers Club where he faced Heckles. Heckles (100) levelled the match score for the Sea Angling Club after beating Calum (131) 3 – 1. The final singles game had Innes for the Rangers Club against Babz. Babz (2 x 140) regained the lead for the Sea Angling Club after beating Innes (2 x 140, 125, 2 x 121, 2 x 100) 3 – 2.


The triples game had Innes (137, 100); Craig and Calum play Wakey, Blondie and Babz. Blondie’s D10 checkout saw the match score move to 3 – 3 with the two doubles games left to play. The first one had Innes (140) and Ross (100) play Pegs (2 x 100) and Blondie (120, 100). The Rangers Club won this one to take the lead at 4 – 3. The final game of the evening in this match saw Craig and Gordy play Babz (100) and Wakey (2 x 100). Babz’s D8 checkout saw a final match score of 4 – 4.

Also on Friday we saw Rangers Club A host The Star. Stephen O’Donnell was the A team’s first player on the oche where he played the Star’s Jamie. Stephen (3 x 100) gave the Rangers Club an early advantage, beating Jamie (125, 121, 2 x 100) 3 – 2. Ian “Bananas” O’Donnell was next up for the A team when he played Don from the Star. Don (3 x 140, 100) levelled the match score beating Bananas (177, 135, 115, 100) 3 – 1. The A team’s next player up was Ivor MacLeod who faced Gordon. Ivor (2 x 117, 100) put the A team back in front beating Gordon (2 x 100) 3 – 1.This was despite Gordon’s 100 finish in leg 2, hitting 2 and 2 x D20. Fantastic finishing there from Gordon! The next Rangers Club player was Ian O’Donnell. He was up against Blackie. Ian (2 x 100) put The A team 2 points in front of the Star by beating Blackie (116) 3 – 1. The final singles game had Kenny “Nini” MacLeod play Ryan from the Star. Ryan apparently won this game 3 – 0 but the score sheet shows no game details. As Nini’s name does not appear in the triples or doubles, I wonder if he was a no-show, hence no details of this game.


The triples had, for the A team, Stephen (100), Bananas and Ivor play Don, Ryan (100) and Jamie. Ivor’s D5 finish put the match score to 4 – 2 to the A team.
The first doubles game saw Stephen (100) and Bananas play Jamie (2 x 125) and Gordon (100). Stephen’s D1 finish sealed the victory for the Rangers Club A team by putting the match score to 5 – 2. This match’s final game had Ivor and Ian play Don and Ryan (2 x 100) and Ian’s D5 checkout left a final match score of 6 – 2 to the Rangers Club A team.

Friday evening’s final game had the Golf Club play host to my own team, The Carlton. Jim from the Golf Club opened proceedings when he played Kay. Jim beat Kay 3 – 0 with the highlight being Jim’s 118 checkout in leg 3 hitting T20, 18 and D20. Young 11 year old Ciaran Peck was the Golf Club’s next player on the oche where he faced The Carlton’s Donnie “Hearach” MacDonald. Ciaran (125) put the Golf Club 2 up after beating the Heareach (103) 3 – 2 in a game that went leg for leg. The Powercut was the third Golf Club player on the oche where he played Ruaraidh Smith. The Powercut (2 x 100) increased the Golf Club’s lead to 3 – 0 after beating Ruaraidh (134, 100) 3 – 2 in another leg for leg battle. Sander Peck was the Golf Club’s 4th player of the evening where he faced John Norman Murray. John Norman (145, 100)  pulled a point back for The Carlton beating Sander (105, 4 x 100) 3 – 2. With the match score at 3 – 1 to the Golf Club, they put forward Cal to play The Carlton’s Neil Clayden in the final singles game. Cal (125, 100) retrieved the Golf Club’s 3 point lead by beating Neil 3 – 0.


The triples game saw Jim, Cal (100) and substitute Daniel play Kay, Neil and John Norman. Jim’s D1 finish left a match score of 5 – 1 to the Golf Club.


The first doubles game had Jim and Sander (100) play Kay and the Heareach. Kay’s D15 finish left a match score of 5 – 2 with just the final doubles game to play. This had Cal and The Powercut play John Norman and Neil. Cal’s D4 finish put an end to a very disappointing match for The Carlton with a final match score of 6 – 2 to the Golf Club.
