He won his world titles in 1980 and the following year plus a three run from 1984.

 

Bristow’s skill and personality helped turn darts into the worldwide spectator sport it is today.  He beat Bobby George to win that first world , in a game that put darts on the map.  

 

Eric also won the World Masters five times and was founding member of the PDC in 1993.

 

Bobby George - known as the King of Bling - makes his fourth visit to Stornoway having previously played in the Caberfeidh, Heb and the Rangers Club.  

 

His biggest win was the News of the world title in 1976, which is worth a visit to You Tube to view.  Widely recognised as one of the games biggest personalities, Bobby George makes flamboyant entrances on stage bedecked in jewellery and wearing a crown and cloak.

 

There will be an auction on the night for a chance for four people to play the legends.  

 

Ten local players have the chance to play these darts greats with qualifying competitions in the Sea Angling this Saturday while on Wednesday 25th Oct there will be a women’s and under-18 competition.

Top darts’ legends in Stornoway show

Darts legends Eric Bristow and Bobby George are taking part in one of the biggest ever darts exhibitions to be staged in the Western Isles.

 

The event in Stornoway Sea Angling Club at the end of the month will be five time world champion, Crafty Cockney, Eric Bristow’s first time on the island.
