A dangerous driver who drove at excessive has been disqualified for at least a year.

 

James Morrison has to pass the extended driving test before he can get behind the wheel again.

 

Stornoway Sheriff Court heard the 22-year old oil worker of Cross, Ness, Lewis, was caught doing 82mph in a 40 mph zone in his Renault Clio at Balantrushal, Lewis, at 8.30am on 22 July.

 

Lawyer Margaret Mackay said her client was “remorseful” for his first offence which occurred as he was late for work.

 

Morrison who admitted dangerous driving was also fined £300 to be paid at £50 a month.
