Hebrides News

A bad forecast meant a cruise ship on charter for National Trust of Scotland voyages altering her itinerary around the Hebrides.

The 18,600 gross tonnage MV Saga Pearl is hired for a cruise around St Kilda and associated islands.

With a heavy swell forecast for St Kilda, her skipper decided to go to Tarbert on Monday, instead of Stornoway today.

Tours around Harris had been pre-arranged anyway though passengers had the bonus of shopping around Tarbert.

Three Lochs Motors coaches took passengers sightseeing to captivating beaches and scenery.

Hebrides Art cafe and gallery in Seilebost said they opened up earlier than usual to accommodate the visitors’ timetable.

Co-owner Lesley Wiseman said the visit was a welcomed boost for trade.
