CRUISE DESTINATION PROJECT MANAGER

Initial 12-month fixed-term (with a view to extension)

£32,000 p.a

Outer Hebrides Tourism are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the new role of Cruise Destination Project Manager within our team.


Outer Hebrides Tourism are the island’s Destination Management Organisation, we run the destination website www.visitouterhebrides.co.uk and are involved in a range of marketing and development activities aimed at ensuring the tourism industry contributes positively to the local economy and community.


OHT are currently working with partners Stornoway Port Authority, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and VisitScotland (Outer Hebrides Cruise Forum) to identify, develop and maximise the opportunities for the islands presented by the forthcoming growth of the local cruise sector.  A Cruise Destination Development Plan and associated actions have been created and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of the vision and objectives they outline.


The Cruise Destination Project Manager is required to drive and organise activity to ensure that the islands develop as a quality cruise destination from 2023 onwards.  


Through delivery of the Outer Hebrides Cruise Destination Plan objectives the post-holder will play a vital role in co-ordinating the existing visitor offer as relevant to the cruise market and in developing new opportunities across the local economy as cruise traffic grows.  


The post-holder will be employed by Outer Hebrides Tourism, on a 1 year fixed-term basis (with a view to extending the post further at the end of this period) and will report to the OHT Chief Executive.  The post is based in the Outer Hebrides with project delivery focused on Stornoway, Lewis & Harris.
