Sir,

Is the Western Isles’ Labour Party candidate confused as to which parliament he is standing for, or is he misleading the public again?

His manifesto pledges are reserved for the Holyrood parliament, not Westminster. MPs can't influence or change ferry services, the CalMac board, ADS etc.

Has he got an eye on next year’s Holyrood election where his manifesto would be appropriate? Probably he is too frightened to admit to Labour's Westminster plans. These include more austerity, further welfare cuts, increased poverty, greater numbers dependent upon food banks etc. Why are Labour frightened of paying the living wage?

Lets not forget that Labour have just voted together with their Conservative allies for at least another £35 billion cuts. No wonder he prefers to hide behind matters reserved for Holyrood.
