Consultation for community windfarm             5/6/12

Point and Sandwick Trust are mid way through an extensive community consultation as part of their application for Big Lottery funding for their community-owned wind farm at Beinn Ghrideag.

Point and Sandwick chairman, Donald John MacSween commented: “Most people in the area will have by now received and completed the questionnaire, and any that remain uncollected should be posted to Point and Sandwick Development Trust, c/o Mann Judd Gordon, 27 Lewis Street, Stornoway, before the 15th of June.

“I am also aware that some some people did not receive their questionnaire, and if they contact our consultant, Derek McKim, at derekmckim1@gmail.com they will be emailed a copy, also for return by the 15th of June.”

Mr Macsween added: “Pupils in Point and Sandwick schools are being consulted on Wednesday the 6th of June, followed by a meeting of all community groups at 7.30pm in Ionad Stoodie, Garrabost.

“The results of the consultation will be published and presented at a public meeting towards the end of June. ”
