A Lewis offender has been warned she faces jail if she fails to obey her sentence.

Maureen Mackay, also known as Mackenzie, will be supervised for the next two years under a community payback order.

The 49-year-old of 38 Springfield Road, Stornoway, was also instructed to carry out 240 hours of unpaid community service work when she appeared over three offences at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Mackay pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Cromwell Street, Stornoway, a week Saturday, by digging her nails into her wrist and refusing to let go.

She previously pleaded guilty to assaulting another female by pulling her hair in Point Street, Stornoway, in 2013.

She was recently convicted of repeatedly making false 999 emergency calls to police from her home address on 4 and 5 August this year.

Sheriff David Sutherland warned her: “You know what will happen if you breach this.”
