Today is the deadline for people to apply to a community council in their district.
Nomination papers are available from the Council Offices in Stornoway, Tarbert, Balivanich and Castlebay or can be downloaded from the Comhairle’s website.
Completed forms have to be lodged by 4pm.
People aged 16 years or over are entitled to stand.
If over 12 nominations are received for any community council an election will be held.
No community council will be formed if less than four people apply.
