A popular restaurant in Stornoway town centre is expected to re-open under a new management team.

The popular Harbour Kitchen has been closed since the beginning for the year.

Now the incoming operators have given a brief update over the future of the Cromwell Street premises, with indicating their intention to restart serving meals again.

They said: “Harbour Kitchen has unfortunately ceased trading.

“It is now under new management and will be opening again soon.”

An opening date has not been finalised but  will be advised when further details are provided in due course.

Harbour Kitchen specialised in seafood dining and it is unclear if this will remain a dominant feature on the new menus.

Neither has it been revealed if the premises will be renamed.

The previous owners shut the eatery at the end of January much to the dismay of its legion of fans who praised its “first class” food presentation, surroundings and ambiance, as well as the “terrific, friendly staff.”

They won the Restaurant of the Year title at the 2022 Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards and were highly praised for showcasing the best local produce.
