Climate change

Sirs,

Calling it a ‘hoax and a bunk’ the US president, Donald J Trump, has withdrawn his country from the Paris ‘climate change’ Agreement. On withdrawing the whole world ‘turns green’ with rage and thinks he’s completely lost the plot. Quite incredible.

On this occasion, you have to take your hat off to the astute American, in the Oval Office, who has Lewis blood running through his veins. No, he doesn’t believe in climate change, at least not in the irrational way the obsessive 'green preservationists' do. Very likely Mr Trump's mother, and grandmother, didn’t believe in so-called ‘global warming and climate change’ either. As the Bible would have been a well-read book, in their respective homes, they undoubtedly were his best advisors.

Global warming fanatics, and eco-friendly activists, may not be easily convinced, but the Bible actually doesn’t believe in ‘climate change’ either. No, it is God who ultimately controls the climate and all the changes that takes place in the skies, above our head, and on the earth, beneath our feet. His unrivalled claim is, ‘for all the earth is mine.’

What folly to imagine that the activities, and actions, of mankind can affect the climate. It is God alone who changes the weather not man. The only thing man can do is observe God’s wisdom and revelation of his glory, shown by His flawless control of the weather. Yes, man can make predictions, of some description, but alas puny man does not control, nor can he regulate, climate change.

The Biblical evidence that climate change is indeed a ‘hoax and a bunk’ is found in Genesis 8:22, ‘While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.’ (Gen. 8:22) We are also told that, ‘One generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the earth abides forever’ (Eccl. 1:4).

These truths powerfully remind us that, despite all the hype about greenhouse gas emissions, fossil fuel combustion and phony global warming scare stories, God is in absolute and Sovereign control of His creation, and changes the climate as He pleases! Those who believe otherwise are captivated by what is only a gigantic hoax and an enormous lie! As a Nazi propaganda swindler once said, ‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.’
