Citizens Advice wins over £400,000 for islanders

Islanders who sought help from the Western Isles Citizens Advice Service (WICAS) between April to September this year are £414,558 better off in total.
The figure represents £3.60 for every £1 of core funding received, which is an excellent return for the funding given to the organisation.
The financial gain figure is probably more said WICAS chairman, David Blaney.
Mr Blaney explained: “Client financial gain is money gained by the client through the involvement of our advisers and is confirmed by the paying authority or by the client themselves.
“In all likelihood as many gains will go unrecorded as we are not informed of them, the true figure will be much higher.”
