A man who smashed a charity shop window has paid compensation towards the damage.

Laurence Sandilands was fined £200 for kicking and breaking the pane of glass at the Bethesda store in Bayhead, Stornoway in February, when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court this week.

The 22-year-old whose address was given as 28 Francis Street, Stornoway, also handed over £250 to replace the window.
