A cyclist was forced to take evasive action to avoid being knocked down by a careless driver, Stornoway Sheriff Court was told.
Kenneth Mitchell of Brue came too close while overtaking at Newmarket, forcing the cyclist onto the verge.
Mitchell who admitted the offence was fined £100 and received three penalty points.
