Some 105 males took part in this year’s Men’s 5K to raise money for the local Hebridean Men’s Cancer Support Group.

Organised as one of this year’s local Movember events, and aimed at raising awareness of male cancers whilst also raising valuable funds in the process, the event saw a number of entrants taking part in their own specially grown ‘Movember’ moustache.

Fundraising from the 2013 event was used by the Men’s Cancer Support group, to support 77 men on their cancer journeys so far this year.

Overall winner was Kyle Munro who competed the route around the Lews Castle Grounds in 19 minutes 22 seconds.

Second in was Jamie Sullivan followed by Roddy Gillies.

The winning team was Stornoway Airport Firemen - Norman Reynolds, Calum Macleod and Duncan Gusterson.
