Cancelled ferry services hope to resume sailings during a lull in the adverse weather on Monday afternoon.

There were no morning sailings on the Stornoway-Ullapool route nor on the Uig triangle run.

The MV Loch Seaforth plans to head to the mainland at lunchtime.

However, her 5.30pm return from Ullapool is not confirmed due to a patch of heavy swell forecast to affect the northern Minch later.

The MV Hebridean Isles is stuck in Tarbert. If localised conditions improve, an proposed timetable has been drawn up for sailings to Skye and North Uist.

The vessel will attempt to depart Harris at 3pm.

There will be no sailing into Harris today. Disrupted ferry traffic waiting on the mainland has the option to go Ullapool-Stornoway. However, that service is on amber alert.

Sailings on the inter-island ferries are liable to disruption or cancellation, said Cal Mac.
