Most island ferry services have been cancelled for Sunday with a gale due to blow up.

Gusts may reach over 60mph in the northern Minch as the gale passes over the Western Isles.

There will be no Stornoway - Ullapool service. The next sailing with the departure of the MV Loch Seaforth from number three pier on at 7am Monday.

All sailings on the Uig triangle route - which sails to Tarbert and Lochmaddy - are cancelled. Weather permitting, the MV Clansman’s next scheduled timetable is on Monday.

The MV Lord of the Isles’s inbound morning run from Lochboisdale and Castlebay is liable to cancellation.

Sailings on the Sound of Harris and the Sound of Barra may be disrupted, delayed or cancelled.
