Campers caught out by bad weather

Coastguards aided three teenagers who lost their tent in a force eight gale.

They faced a night out in the open overnight in the heavy rain after strong winds - gusting to 45mph - blew their shelter away while camping at Clachan Sands on North Uist.

A relative of one of the 16-year-olds alerted police who asked local coastguards to assist.

Rescue teams from Griminish and Benbecula found the youngsters and drove them to more suitable accommodation in Lochmaddy.
