Numerous Western Isles ferry sailings are cancelled over Saturday as force eight
gale batters sea routes. Wind speeds of 50mph or more are forecast while swell conditions
are also causing concern.
Sailings which are not cancelled remain on yellow alert.
Sound of Barra sailings are suspended until at least Saturday afternoon. The last
two timetabled return sailings remain on a disruption warning.
At present, only the the last scheduled return sailing on the Berneray - Leverburgh
route may operate. Earlier sailings are off.
MV Isle of Lewis is stormbound in Castlebay. Her next Oban service is on Sunday.
The Skye triangle timetable faces potential disruption.
MV Loch Seaforth intends to remain in Ullapool overnight with her potential departure
at 7pm on Saturday evening from the mainland.
