Cal Mac listens to local businesses       21/4/14

Isles parliamentarians Alasdair Allan MSP and Angus MacNeil MP have praised Caledonian MacBrayne for maintaining the same timetable on the Stornoway freight ferry, MV Clipper Ranger.

Concern was raised from local businesses that the Clipper Ranger was to bring its regular departure time forward to 9pm.

Angus MacNeil MP said: “I am glad that CalMac have listened to the views of local businesses who quietly raised concerns with me that changes to the timetable would have a detrimental impact on their business.

“When issues arise, we are often quick to criticise CalMac, and I include myself in this statement. It is important to acknowledge CalMac when they listen to the views of local companies.”

Alasdair Allan said:  “I am pleased that CalMac have responded to calls from Angus and myself, among others, to ensure that the timetable suits the needs of local businesses, and that they have been flexible enough to get this matter resolved quickly.”
