Electors in the An Taobh Siar agus Nis by-election have until 5pm today (Tues) to apply for a postal vote or to change existing postal or proxy arrangements.

A vacancy was caused following the death of Cllr Iain Morrison, who died in August.

Three hopefuls are contesting the seat for the ward which takes in the Westside and Ness areas of Lewis.

Independent candidates are Richard Brian Froggatt of South Bragar and John Norman Macleod of Lower Barvas.

Gavin Macleod Humphreys of Jamieson Drive, Stornoway is standing on a Green Party ticket.

The election takes place on Wednesday 7 October.
