Burnt offerings 12/1/13
Shawbost firecrew was called out after a householder burnt their supper. One person
was given first aid on scene and treated by ambulance personnel after smoke filled
the kitchen because the hot grill pan was left unattended at teatime on Thursday.
In Stornoway a fire crew was called to a bonfire of cut plants. The fire was extinguished
using two hosereel jets.
Earlier this week, a cow stuck in a bog needed help from Lochboisdale and Benbecula
fire crews to get out. Crews used two lines of hose to get the animal free.
