Despite the Holyrood Parliament having been established twenty years ago, there are
still many who don't know which responsibilities have been devolved and which are
still reserved by Westminster. A prime example of this is broadband which is still
the responsibility of Westminster.
The majority of Scottish Labour and Conservative
MPs, and candidates, appear to be more committed to their respective parties than
to the people they are supposed to represent. As a result, successive Labour and
Conservative governments have paid little attention to the needs of Scotland.
has led to the SNP Scottish Government having to use its own funds for a programme
to improve broadband across the country. Despite these good intentions, the responsibility
for broadband continues to reside with the Westminster Government which has no interest
