Scottish Conservative candidate for Na h-Eileanan an Iar Daniel McCroskrie has called on voters to back him to “secure a strong Brexit deal” for the islands.

The call comes ahead of tomorrow’s general election where voters will have the opportunity to vote for an MP who will represent the islands during the Brexit process.

Daniel McCroskrie said: "After engaging with voters over the course of the campaign, it is clear that people want a member of parliament who will fight for a strong Brexit deal so that the fishing industry gets a big boost, crofters are supported and the local economy can grow.

"There is a clear choice in the Western Isles. The SNP and Labour candidates who both want to see Brexit fail even if it is at the expense of local industries, or me and the Scottish Conservatives who want a strong Brexit deal that supports the islands.

"The SNP have represented these islands at Westminster for some time, but during the Brexit process, we need a MP who will be in the next likely party of government, securing a strong deal for the Western Isles, rather than an SNP MP who can only oppose and complain from the back benches.

"I want to be the person to get that strong deal for the Western Isles and I hope people place their faith in me on Thursday."
