A motorist under suspicion of drink driving failed to give police officers two breath tests.

Robert Lambert, of Barnaldswick, Lancashire, was banned from driving for two years for the offence.

Sheriff David Sutherland also imposed a £600 fine, reduced from £750 for his early guilty plea.

Stornoway Sherrif Court was told the samples were to ascertain the level of alcohol in his system when he was driving a vehicle between Newmarket and Stornoway in October.
