Six pupils from Sgoil Bhreascleit in Lewis scooped a top prize for junior scientists and engineers against a raft of rival primary schools across the Highlands and Islands.

They competed in various science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) challenges set by a number of commercial companies to lift the Primary STEM Challenge Trophy.

The Breasclete pupils travelled to the regional finals in Inverness which are sponsored by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry and involve 20 primary and secondary schools from all over the Highlands and Moray region.

This is the second year running that a team from Sgoil Bhreascleit has won the award for Primary STEM Challenge winner.
