Rejected boyfriend smashed shop stock 1/2/12
A Stornoway man smashed ornaments in a giftware shop when his ex-
Timothy O’Keefe, 19, of 23 Seaview Terrace, Stornoway went to his former's girlfriend's workplace to try and rekindle their relationship on 29 November.
Procurator fiscal David Teale said he swept everything off the counter "in a fit of rage" when she told him to leave.
He later appeared in court over the incident and was ordered not to go near her.
But he broke that court instruction when he went to her home on 6 January. He was refused entry but used a stone to smash a glass window in the front door and unlocked it.
Police founded him seated in the living room when they arrived, said the fiscal.
Solicitor Kevin Macpherson said O’Keefe had been unable to cope with the break-
Sheriff David Sutherland imposed 150 hours of unpaid work under a community payback order which also includes a two year supervision requirement.
O’Keefe is banned from going into the Stornoway shop or his former's partner's address for two years.
