An islander who threatened to throw a boulder at two police officers has been sentenced.

Domhnall Chalum Macleod of 11 Macmillan Brae, Stornoway, pleaded guilty to making lunging motions with the boulder at the officers in Willowglen, Stornoway one evening in July.

He also threatened to throw it at their marked car.

At Stornoway Sheriff Court, the 24-year-old was ordered to carry out 125 hours of unpaid community service work.
