Bòrd na Gàidhlig has appointed Mona Wilson as the organisation’s first director of Gaelic education, which it said is one of the most important positions to date in Gaelic education.

 

Mona, who has been working with Strathclyde University since 1999, as Lecturer of Gaelic and then senior lecturer of Gaelic, is originally from Lewis.

 

She takes up her new post later this month.
