Book amnesty at Nicolson Institute  8/9/10

Hard times has forced the Nicolson Institute to launch a book  amnesty in an effort to encourage pupils to hand back any unreturned school books.

Students who are about to head off to college or university, as well as those who have already started employment, are urged to put back text books.

A spokesperson said: “School books are incredibly expensive, and ex-pupils are being asked to help out in these austere times by handing back any old school books back to the Nicolson as a matter of urgency.

“A box is located on a table in the Crush Hall so books may be returned speedily (and anonymously for those with a guilty conscience!).”

The school held a similar event several years ago which was very successful.
