A financial lawsuit against Arnish yard operator BiFab is due to be postponed until the summer.

German steel supplier EEW Group is suing BiFab for a substantial bill said to be worth a multi million pound sum.

Now the Court of Session is being told the parties are looking to put the case on hold for six months.

The postponement is expected to be granted but the case could still return to court in the summer if it is unresolved between the two companies.

Last November BiFab - which operates yards in Stornoway as well as Methil and Burntisland in Fife - was saved from the brink of administration following intensive talks to restructure debts owed by the firm to its partners in the Beatrice offshore wind farm.

Last minute intervention plus a £15 million loan pledge from the Scottish Government rescued the firm.

However, the firm is running out of work with workers at the Arnish yard in Stornoway receiving redundancy notices and the Fife site set to be finished in a few weeks.
