A television documentary made in 1991 - which features the Bethesda Hospice in Stornoway - is now available on Youtube.

It features rheumatology professor Verna Wright of Leeds University, and Christina Maclean MBE, both medics, Christians, and suffering from a terminal illness.

The film, produced and directed by Jim Wiltshire, reveals how the professor, an evangelist who also co-founded the United Beach Missions, and Christina, the former chief area nursing officer for the Western Isles Health Board who became the first manager of the Bethesda Nursing Home and Hospice, were able to cope with their cancer because of their faith.

Both died within a month of each other in 1998.

The video is accessible at www.youtu.be
