Hebrides News

Two island ferries were unable to berth at Uig pier in Skye due to the adverse weather last night.

Conditions were too hazardous for the Hebridean Isles, arriving from Lochmaddy, to go alongside.

The incoming Isle of Arran with passengers from Harris also had to steam around about off the coast waiting for a gap in the weather.

Both ships later managed to dock safely and loaded for voyages back to island ports.

Bad weather also forced both inter-island ferries to suspend services during the day.
