Exploring over 200 years of Berneray emigration     30/7/12

Berneray Historical Society is hosting a conference, ‘Exploring over 200 years of Emigration from Berneray’ on Friday from 9:30am until 4pm in Berneray Community Hall.

Dr Marjory Harper, Professor of History at the University of Aberdeen and Associate Professor of History at UHI’s Centre for History will make the opening address.

The conference reveals some of the discoveries made in the course of the historical society’s latest project, A’ tilleadh ar n-eachdraidh dhachaigh (Bringing our history home) which examines aspects of the story of emigration from Berneray.

The entrance fee of £5 includes refreshments and a light lunch. The event will be followed by an evening ceilidh dance with Calum Iain MacCorquodale.
