Benefits’ check helpline 29/12/11
Housing Minister Keith Brown is urging pensioners to take up the benefits check on offer through the Scottish Government's Home Energy Scotland Hotline to ensure they are receiving all the right benefits and have access to the lowest energy rates.
More than 34,000 people have now been referred through the hotline to services which maximise income through checking eligibility for benefits.
The average increase for pensioner households who get an increase in income is £1,681 per year.
