Ferry sailings for Barra have been altered to accommodate the ever-popular Tiree Music Festival.

The MV Isle of Lewis will operate as normal but the Clansman’s sailings are cancelled on the next two Wednesdays to allow the vessel to run additional services to Tiree.

Gary Innes will be performing his new album ‘ERA’ at this year’s Tiree festival, the only summer event to showcase the new material.

There will also be a special guest spot from Anthony “Anto” Thistlewaite, long-standing member of Irish rock band The Saw Doctors, who will join Tide Lines on stage.

From Glasgow comes Have Mercy Las Vegas with their rowdy and eclectic mix of folk and blues and their Celtic flair. Another addition to the line-up is former front-man of the much loved Scottish Americana band The Felsons, Dean Owens and his band, The Whisky Hearts.

Feel-good, high energy performers Jam Sandwich is returning to the event while multi-instrumentalist Tamzene, the first signing to new label Belladrum Records, is also playing.

Flame haired songstress Sophie Rogers will be showcasing her Caledonia soul and folk/pop fusion. The festival also welcomes vocalist and guitarist Marianne Fraser, of folk ensemble CherryGrove. The Sea Atlas will be performing their atmospheric folk rock.

Another coup for the multi-award winning festival is the official launch of the island’s brand new Tyree Gin. Dubbed a “true taste” of Tiree, the flavour comes from six locally foraged botanicals ground with kelp and sea-belt from the Atlantic Ocean.
