Displaying tobacco products in public is now against the law, as new rules for small shops comes into force today.

Large stores have covered up cigarette stalls since 2012 while smaller outlets were given more time to prepare for the ban.

Now, all retailers are required to keep tobacco items out of sight.

As well as shops, the legislation applies to pubs and clubs as well as private members clubs.
