Two sentenced after post office break-
A Lewis thief who went on an offending spree has been sent to prison for six months.
Lena Jane Morrison formerly of Balallan but whose address was given as Lewis Street, Stornoway, was sentenced for a catalogue of offences at Stornoway Sheriff Court yesterday (wed).

She also accepted she supplied alcohol to three underage drinkers on July 16th at Torquil Terrace, Stornoway.
Morrison also smashed windows to get into a house at Tomair, Balallan to reset a pile of pile of lottery scratch cards stolen from Balallan post office.
Fiscal David Teale said there were 289 cards costing £1 while 362 were priced at £2. The was 25 of £5 cards. There was a number of winners amongst them but Morrison was foiled in trying to get them cashed at Tescos Stornoway as they were blocked by the lottery operator.

Sheriff David Sutherland imposed a total of five months and 28 days imprisonment and ordered Morrison to pay compensation for the unrecovered food and drink. Half her sentence was for getting buying alcohol for underage drinkers.
A friend, Ian Kenneth Macaulay 10 Doune Park, Bragar, Lewis, previously admitted breaking in and thieving the lottery cards as well as two charity boxes, a box containing £150 as well as another £100 in cash

Sheriff Sutherland said it was with “some hesitation” Macaulay was getting two years probation with 180 hours community service. He was placed on an overnight curfew for six months and ordered to pay £400 compensation.
He was warned: “Given your record, if you breach this you will go away.“
