Dear Sir,

On behalf of the Western Isles branch of St Andrew's First Aid, I would like to extend our thanks to the local community, who have been exceedingly generous with their donations to our recent bag packing and collecting in Tesco.

After an evening of counting the money raised, and taking it to the bank, I announced to our local group of first-aiders that we had raised the very impressive total of £1416.75.

Once we informed our head office on the mainland they told us that it was potentially a Scottish national record for that type of fundraising.

This is an enormous sum for our first fundraising venture and it wouldn't have been possible without the extraordinary kindness of the public, and their willingness to give to a good cause.

Many thanks again from all of us in the Western Isles St Andrew's Team, not only to the members of the public who gave so kindly, but also to the pupils of The Nicolson Institute who gave their time to pack bags to help raise the money.
