Three talented junior Back FC players have competed in an internationally renowned youth football tournament in Spain.

Adam Mackinnon, 14, and thirteen year olds Andrew Macleod and James Graham played in the Costa Daurada Cup competition in Barcelona with Highland side, Ross County FC.

Andrew’s under 13s team won the final of the Consolation Cup against Spanish side, Añorga Kke.

Adam and James were in the under-15 team which narrowly lost 1-0 in the semi finals of their competition to the overall winners, Gazteluzarra, also from Spain.

Each island lad got on the goal sheet, scoring six between them.

The tournament was a fantastic opportunity for the boys and they have gained invaluable experience playing against other teams from across Europe.

As part of the Ross County squads, the trio depart Lewis each weekend and travel Scotland-wide to play competitive games in their respective age groups. In addition, with the island’s local season starting they will be playing in midweek youth matches for Back FC.
